Warren YES is a free, public school serving all families in Warren County and beyond. We open in Fall 2026 with grades K–6 and will grow one grade each year until K–12. Enrollment is open to every child; no tuition, no testing, no barriers.


How to Enroll

Paper copies of the application will be available at Warren County Memorial Library, accompanied by clear instructions for submission.

  • Use a valid email address you check often.
  • After you register, you’ll receive a confirmation email.
  • Step 2: Complete and Submit Your Application
  • Once your account is created, follow the prompts to complete an application for each child you’d like to enroll at Warren YES Charter School.

Tips for Families

  • Only one account is needed per family (you can add multiple students).
  • Make sure your contact information is correct. Lotterease will send lottery results by email.

FAQs

Warren Young Explorers School will open in Fall 2026 for Grades K-6 and will grow each year until it becomes a K-12 school.

Our intended location is 301 Walker Avenue in Norlina, the former Norlina High School site.

Applications opened November 2025, and will remain open for at least 30 days. Families can apply online by clicking here.

Any North Carolina student can apply. Warren YES is tuition-free and open to all students – no testing required.

Yes. If seats are still available after all North Carolina students are admitted, Warren YES may enroll out-of-state students (up to 10% of total enrollment). Tuition will apply based on the state’s per-pupil funding rate.

Families who qualify for Free or Reduced-Price Lunch are considered Educationally Disadvantaged (ED). A simple income chart is available here so families can check if they qualify.

Charter schools are public schools that have more flexibility to design curriculum and culture in ways that reflect the needs and values of their communities. Warren YES blends academic excellence with wellness, creativity, and outdoor learning.

Students will develop both academic skills and emotional wellness; learn in outdoor classrooms and school gardens; and explore science and storytelling through real-world projects, all in a safe, joyful environment.

We focus on academic excellence through our four pillars: Place-Based Learning, Outdoor & Agricultural Education, Holistic Health & Wellness, and Creative Expression.
